Do you Experience Skin Sensitivity to Certain Beauty Products?
Skin sensitivity can be characterized as easily irritated, delicate skin that at times can have a stinging or a burning sensation to environmental factors. It is skin that is extremely sensitive to temperature, and it will chap easily in the wind and burn easily in the sun.
Besides things like temperature changes, harsh household cleaning agents, wool and other rough fabrics, sensitive skin can be unable to tolerate many beauty care products.

Skin sensitivity can be caused by the use of
fragrances
and other chemicals in skin care products and cosmetics.
If you think a product labeled "unscented" truly contains no scent, think again. "Unscented" actually includes fragrance that masks other chemical odors in a product. (Tip: If your product includes cinnamic alcohol, hydroxycitronella, or isoeugenol on the ingredients list, don't use the product. These fragrances frequently cause skin reactions.)
"Fragrance-free" or "without perfume" products mean that no scent has been added, even though you may smell the presence of a natural product (such as lavender). If you've ever noticed that your skin seems extra sensitive when you're outdoors, it may be because some fragrance reactions occur when the skin is exposed to the sun.
The second most common cause of red, scaly skin is the use of synthetic preservatives. Preservatives are added to skin care products and cosmetics because they prevent the growth of fungus and bacteria, and they protect water-based products from oxygen and light damage. Basically, they contain preservatives so the product has a longer shelf-life. However, they can cause discomfort for those with skin sensitivity to certain products. Common preservatives include
parabens,
imidazolidinyl urea, Quaternium-15, DMDM hydantoin, phenoxyethanol, and formaldehyde.
Labels
See the word "Sensitive" on the label? This can mean that the product contains soothing ingredients like cucumber or chamomile, and that it lacks synthetic or added fragrances and dyes, or that it is a milder version of an existing product. Check the ingredients panel for natural beauty care that contains gentle, botanical components.
Tip: a good way to tell if a product is safe for sensitive skin is if the ingredient label lists fewer than 10 ingredients.
When it comes to sensitive skin, you have to be careful about the skin products you use.
